In 2008, William "Bill" Blackmon's iconic vine and star graced the first of a long line of William Chris Vineyards wines -- a beacon for our mission to create premium Texas wines with intention and a sense of Texan terroir. Now, we've seen that mission further embraced by way of new Texas wine label legislature: In 2021 a label bill passed that put structure in place so that when we drink a wine labelled "Texas" we know where those grapes came from.
The tales of our storied past, and an important piece of our world
A single vintage, variety, and vineyard that came together to create nothing short of exceptional fruit
Over 75% of a star grape variety sourced from several vineyards within an AVA, such as the Texas High Plains
The best varietals from one exceptional vineyard site that we have come to love
Whether it is our story,
a beloved grape varietal,
one of the eight AVA's of Texas,
or a tried and truly exceptional single-vineyard site,
each label was made with the intent of clearly stating the many factors that make a Texas wine Texan.
